The CSI-1100 is for contractors, municipal workers and utilities personnel working in two or three person crews in manholes and many other Confined Space or Hazardous Work Areas.
DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION
The CSI-1100 is a compact Communication System that provides simultaneous two-way communication between an Operator and one User to distances of up to 1500 feet. The equipment is easy to use, completely hands-free and works extremely well in high noise applications. The electronics are housed in a rugged, waterproof, lightweight enclosure that can be worn on the belt. Powered by 4 'AA' cell batteries, the unit has a 200 hr. battery life and is continuously monitored by a low power warning circuit that provides the operator with a 12 hour warning of battery replacement. As an added precaution, CON-SPACE has incorporated an audible signalling device into the communication module allowing the entrant to alert his/her safety attendant on demand.
Basic systems configured with a CSI-1100, allow an Operator and one User to communicate but can be expanded using available options to handle one additional User for a total of three.
The Hard line is a shielded communication cable which is physically strong, resistant to a wide range of corrosive fluids, acids, alkalis and fuels and is not subject to dead spots, electrical or RF interference. A complete range of accessories is available to help workers configure the equipment for any application or environment including use in extreme high noise or while wearing breathing apparatus or respirators. All components and accessories are manufactured to a Military Standard and are interchangeable between the CSI-1100 and CSI-2100 Systems.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
The CSI-1100 Mini-Module is extremely rugged. The enclosure is coated aluminium with stainless steel hardware. Control knobs and switches are all of premium quality and all connectors are Mil. Spec., made of stainless steel with gold plated contacts. The CSI-1100 Mini-Module is environmentally sealed and resistant to corrosive fluids
The special triple shielded signal cable is coated with Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) which has excellent abrasion properties. It is flexible at low temperature and resistant to a wide range of corrosive fluids including Skydrol, acids, alkalis and fuels.
The CSI-1100 Mini-Module is environmentally sealed and resistant to corrosive fluids.

Regulations mandate continuous monitoring of Entrants by Attendants, which includes detection of changes in their behavioural patterns, such as slurring of speech, abnormal breathing and out of character responses. These can be detected immediately with continuous voice communication. Entrants are also less susceptible to feelings of claustrophobia, panic or confusion. They feel safer and as a result, are more effective and can work for longer periods without interruption.

Hardline Equipment Warranty
All CON-SPACE communication modules and accessories except cables and cable assemblies are warranted for one year against defects in workmanship and materials. This does not include damage caused by misuse and specifically excludes cable assemblies. No other warranties are expressed or implied.
